Day 36 – What Is Your Passion?

As we find ourselves in Passion week I can’t help but ask what is our Passion?

1passion-week_std_t

The definition of Passion is. : a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something : a strong feeling (such as anger) that causes you to act in a dangerous way.

Full Definition a :the sufferings of Christ between the night of the Last Supper and his death.

What are we willing to give our all too? What is number one in your heart and in our lives? stock-photo-15874802-man-s-finger-pointing-from-four-different-angle

This is the third day of passion week. On this day many things took place but the one that stands out the most to me is this is the day Judas begin to bargain to betray our Savior.

(Luke 22:1-6)

Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.

I read this and I’m so broken not over the fact that Judas betrayed Jesus, but that Jesus knew he would be betrayed by Judas and still loved him as they walk through Passion week from place to place.

Jesus could of at any moment dismissed Judas but His Passion for you and I would not allow him too.

Three things I get from this passage is

  1. The invite – Judas welcomed Satan in.

Satan can enter anyone’s life that allows him to.

It don’t matter you race, age, position, or title. If we open the door to the enemy he will not only come in but he will take over.

  1. The intention – our intentions always show through in our actions It’s when we are places we don’t belong or in situations we don’t belong in that we find ourselves bargaining to get what we want rather than praying and trusting God for what he wants to give us
  1. The inevitable – when we’re not connected to the one that gives life we can not live.

Once we allow the enemy of our soul to come in we are on the road to destruction.

Matthew 27:1-5

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed. So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.” So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

Judas was one of the 12 closes to Jesus and yet he was so far.

Today is a new day lets set our eyes on Jesus and all that this week represents.

Let our Passion be to win as many souls as we can for the kingdom. Let’s set our eyes on Jesus and the great price He paid for you and I.

Be Blessed,

Roberta Oliver
