Day 31 – It’s All About People

imagesPhilippians 2:1-8 NIV

[1] Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, [2] then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. [3] Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, [4] not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. [5] In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; [7] rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. [8] 8 And being found in appearance as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross!

As I think about what God did for us on the cross I can’t help but be broken. He was selfless and His love for others is the ultimate example to us.

Our pastor shared a beautiful message this past Wednesday on souls. This is what it’s all about, People!!!!! There are so many people that still need to hear about the love God. I am also convicted about the very people God has given to us in our church. There are people w needs who need us to be those leaders in their lives. There are a few things God showed me through this passage of scripture that we can use when it comes to working w people.

1. Do nothing out of selfish ambition– selfishness will stop us from meeting the needs of others because it’s all about us. We must look past our own needs and consider others better than ourselves. When we put others first God always meets our needs. Also when working w others don’t do it for selfish reasons, what can they do for me but how can I serve them.

2. Look out for the interest of others- Find small ways you can meet someone’s need, what’s their interest? How can I lighten their load?

3. Have the mindset of Christ– he has to be the center of any relationship.

Christ see’s the good in people And past their flaws. He loves unconditionally. People will hurt us and let us down. They won’t always be what we want them to be but we must love them anyways and keep believing in them just as Christ did.
