Ecclesiastes 10:10

“If the iron is blunt, and one does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom helps one to succeed.”

Bent Spear, Empty Quiver and Broken Arrow are actually military terms to describe incidents where nuclear or very powerful weapons have either; been lost, accidentally detonated, or cause a severe “incident,” those weapons are somewhere loose and they are armed, therefore they are dangerous! When this happens this incidents they:

  • Generates a higher level of military action
  • Causes a national reaction
  • Affects international relationships
  • Causes immediate widespread coverage in news media
  • Is clearly against the national interest
  • Affects current national policy

We are weapons in the hands of our Lord, and not just dull, unusable  weapons
dull weapons
but powerful weapons!

We need to be those weapons that when the enemy sees that we are dangerous we cause an immediate reaction in the spiritual world! But in order to become those dangerous weapons we need to go past our spiritual boot camp, and become specialized, that means we need to grow more, mature more.

Paul makes it clear that our destiny in Christ is to grow up, to mature, to become an adult.

I Cor 13: 11 “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. ”

Jesus also makes it clear that God’s design for us is to become productive, to be fruitful people and thus to grow to the point where we can bear fruit.

John 15:1  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit.

But growing is not easy. The very fact that Jesus uses the idea of pruning should tell us something about growing.  If we think about it who really wants stuff cut off? Who really wants the obvious pain that comes with that? Who wants to lose something because other parts need to grow?.

To fight and win this spiritual war we need to have on our full armor, but not just wear the armor but know our weapons, our armor and know how to use it, that does not happen overnight.

Growth takes change and only the Holy Spirit can change us, and if we allow him to change us we will grow. When we ask god to take us to our destiny, god has to prepare us for that destiny, so he will take us to the wilderness to prepare us.

}Noah -he was not an overnight success.

Noah was willing to look unsuccessful  for 100 yrs…..but one day it began to drizzle!!!!

}-Joseph-God loves to put us on pits so we can grow, like Joseph before we reach our destiny he will put us in a pit, that’s when and where we’re  alone, then we can only look up to god!

God allows us to go through pits because in order to be strong, powerful warriors first we have to:

1.Allow God to expose us our weakness, so that we can turn to Him

2.God does not have any use for our worldly knowledge

3.Everything were going through is preparing us for what we need to deal with in the future

4. God is getting us ready to defeat some giants in the future

5. God is preparing people of purity god wants people with pure motive

God prepares us because: He does not want us to become blunt weapons, bent arrows who completely miss the mark, bended spearKempten_Pilumor empty quivers!

God wants to equip us, to train us so that will always be ready to deflect the fiery darts of the enemy! But we can only be who He wants us to be when we allow him to sharpen us, to train us, to allow us to go through the desert, through the pits of life, in Proverbs 9:10 the Word tells us  “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”!  When we stay teachable, we will always  be ready for more instruction! I want to be trained more! I don’t want to be a dull weapon, but I want to be a sharp, deadly arrow in my Father’s Quiver!
