Shield Yourself!

Battle Tested

Day:24

Ephesians  6:16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (NIV)

In observance of passing midway through our fast, I am drawn to evaluate my own journey through the battle…At Women’s Convention I was brought to the realization that I live in a significant time.  Not just that “inspirational, right of passage way”; but the time I live in holds a great significance.  This time has been anticipated for centuries, spoken of by prophets and studied by great scholars.  We live in the end times.  And it was at Women’s Convention, that I knew that I wanted to be apart of the Call of Christ to join arms and battle over this world for the Salvation of the lost. As the days progressed in the battle, many attacks were unleashed; as I’m sure for most of us who responded to the call and the United Fast.  In recent days I’ve evaluated my condition on the battlefield and the armor I’ve been given.

Did you ever notice that the Shield of Faith is the only part of the armor that was spoken for in action on the field. “Take up…”  In my evaluation, our faith isn’t something to carry around like an accessory, it’s called to take up.  Believe me, I have tried to carry it over my shoulder next to my handbag! Those were the most difficult times because I stopped using the Shield of Faith for its purpose.  Yet, when I raise my faith to protect myself from the fiery darts, I work with a better confidence and courage on the battlefield. It’s not a confidence or courage I naturally have, but one that comes from trusting in Jesus!

Today you may feel like you need to re-evaluate your battle stance and armor.  I hope I can encourage you to “Take up the Shield of Faith”  Elevate your faith to get you to your victory!
