“The Lord will go out like a soldier; like a warrior God will stir up rage. God will shout, will roar; over enemies he will prevail.” Isaiah 42:13 (CEB)
At many times in our lives we often assume that the battle, or even the war for that matter, is a lonely fight. The weight of the warfare is heavy and real. We do try to turn to a leader, companion or loved one to help us engage, but we often feel the enemy’s fiery darts the most. This is where confusion, frustration and defeat can often settle in. We count ourselves out before we can hear the Shouts and Roars from the One who has engaged in war before us.
I want to remind you, and me, that the Lord was the first on the battlefield. He waged a war against an enemy who would try everything in his powerless might to steal, kill and destroy our lives. Jesus knows the battleground, and He has prepared Himself with the appropriate armor to fight.
“He put his righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he puts on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.” Isaiah 59:17 (ESV)
When I read this scripture it tells me that we wear the same armor; an armor that has been tested for Victory! God has not only prepared to win this war, but the Holy Spirit has been preparing us for this battle and war that we face; in fact, God has won them before we even stepped onto the battlefield. He has been conditioning us over time, and now we are here to fight!
Soldiers, there is Victory in Jesus’ Name! We are not just fighting for ourselves to receive Victory, we are fighting for our City to receive Victory! We are setting captives free from the enemy! I hope that as we gather to pray and fast, we hear the Victory Shouts from our God. Let’s find confidence in His presence. I want us to place that tried and true armor on, and stand side by side to fight this war to Victory!
