Daily Bible Reading: Genesis 24-28
Reading through the life of Rebekah; she is perceived to be a woman full of wisdom, dependable and a great support to her husband Isaac.
Here are some great attributes we can learn from her life:
a) She was a great servant:
She was willing to help a stranger with a drink and water his camels too. she did over and above what was expected of her, she took it to the next level by watering the numerous camels, and offered to take him to her father’s house to spend the night (Gen 24:24)
Rebekah went the extra mile for this servant out of kindness, not duty. As women, our challenge should be to go from doing the minimum to do the maximum for God!
b) She was chosen: She was at the right place at the right time , serving. Therefore it was easy for the servant to identify her as the one whom God had chosen for Isaac.
c) She was obedient: She had a missionary’s heart, she was willing to leave her family and loved ones and go with her husband wherever God had in store for them. She didn’t hesitate or hold him back, but through obedience she followed gladly.
d) She was a woman of prayer: She sort to inquire of the Lord, when her pregnancy was getting hard and received a word ( Gen 25:23) she know God would protect her and the babies through her pregnancy and birth.
e) She held on to her promise: In genesis 24:60, her brothers blessed her saying “our sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the gates of their enemies”. Rebekah held on to this promise even in her dark hours when they discovered that she was barren. Isaac prayed for her that God would open her womb and she never lost hope. And indeed she gave birth to twins!
From the time she met her future husband, Isaac, she was not afraid to marry him and partner with him to be used of God. She had no fear of the unknown, she stepped out and believed God for her future.
This reminds us a lot about our founder Pastor and his wife Sister Julie. Knowing He had a great calling over His life, she married Pastor Sonny and together they have answered a great call by reaching the lost for Jesus Christ.
Through them we too can share in this great calling and follow in their example of stepping out and accepting God’s call over our lives to do whatever He wants of us.
Today’s challenge: Bless a family with groceries.
The “Rebekah Principle” is simple: go the extra mile for someone today. Help someone who could use a hand.
All our love,
Josephine, Melissa and Shana

I’m blessed to be part of a ministry that has a HEART of GOLD! The MISSION in giving is a POWERFUL TOOL when it is GIVEN FREELY! “If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink.” Proverbs 25:21
